52 Weeks/ Week 2-Shades of Red

21 01 2011

This week our theme for the 52 week project was “Shades of Red.” I had so much fun this week with our theme. I really struggled to come up with something until I was walking through the make up aisle of Walmart. My eyes were drawn to all the red. Instantly I thought of my project! There are a million different shades of red lipstick.

These are 2 of my most favorite little girls in the world. My daughter Gracie and my neice Olivia. They are the best of friends! Both of them are quite the divas, so when I told them I was going to let them play with lipstick, they were over the moon!

There are many pictures, but each one tells the story. Enjoy!

52 weeks

14 01 2011

This year I have decided to do a 52 week project. Even with all the other things going on in my life, I decided that one of my new year’s resolutions was to take photographs for me. I have joined 17 other photographers doing the same project.  Our group came up with 52 themes that we will be going by for the year 2011. We will be doing one photograph a week. Each week I will post my picture on my blog (that will hopefully look different in the near future so be watching for the change!). Under my post, I will link another photographer’s name so you can admire their work also. The link at the bottom of each photographer’s post will be one of the amazing 17 other photographers! You’ve got to check them out!

This week our theme was “self-portrait”! UGH! Self portait…I dont’ like self portraits! I was trying to come up with an idea that I could show you who I was and what defined me as a person. I decided that in every aspect of my life, my children define me. My photo isn’t just of me…it is of me and one of my four beautiful children. Charlee Maxine. She is soon to be 3 years old and is the most kind spirited, well mannered, and the most loving child I know. As you can see, she doesn’t take after me much in looks, but I like to believe that she is much like me in all other ways! My wonderful husband shot this picture. I’m glad that I got this opportunity to take a self portrait. I know I’ll look back on this picture with fond memories and remember the times when my babies were babies.
